EKO Arlamow

The EKO Arłamow program is constantly evolving. We are constantly working on new, innovative pro-ecological solutions and taking further steps to protect the environment. Currently, there is a growing social awareness and sense of responsibility for what surrounds us and for the future of our planet - including in business. We know that every step, even the smallest one, matters, which is why we have created a complete environmental policy and are constantly implementing every element of it in the daily life of the hotel.

How we support the environment:

  • we have our own combined heat and power (CHP) plant with trigeneration technology, one of the most modern and largest of its kind in Poland, which uses wood biomass as fuel; the CHP plant burns 21,000 tons of wood biomass annually, producing 36,000 MWh of heat energy and about 10,000 MWh of cooling annually; the furnace temperature reaches 950°C;
  • our advanced BMS building automation control system helps save energy and water throughout the facility;
  • we are introducing energy-saving features in buildings and installations, such as turning off air conditioning when balcony doors are opened, energy-saving lighting, outdoor lighting that minimizes light pollution, and appliance performance management;
  • we encourage limited use of elevators, and consequently invite guests to use the staircases, which reduces energy consumption in our building; in front of each of the 26 elevators, there are placards informing guests of the electricity savings by using the stairs;
  • we take care of fresh air, free of smog and creating ideal conditions for respiratory therapy; you can check the state of air quality and pollution levels in Arlamow on the Airly Map;
  • specially designed lighting lamps and illumination of the facility minimize the so-called light pollution;
  • we have our own greenhouse, where we grow herbs and vegetables free of fertilizers and sprays, used in the hotel kitchen to prepare meals in all restaurants;
  • we have our own apiary, from which we obtain excellent honeys to complement our hotel menu;
  • we have implemented a composting machine for food waste, which, under the influence of temperature, transforms it into pre-compost used in the CHP plant to generate energy;
  • we have completely abandoned plastic cups, tubes and cutlery;
  • we segregate garbage;
  • we have 4 charging stations for electric vehicles, and Hotel security moves around the property by melex or horseback, reducing our carbon footprint;
  • we organize educational games about ecology for our youngest guests;
  • we engage in CSR activities such as planting trees, building beehives, and constructing hedgehog and bird houses; we plant about 300 trees a year in Arlamow; we encourage individual Guests as well as groups from the MICE sector to plant their tree with us, which we will take care of;
  • we have designated places for flower meadows and prepared a gift for our Guests in the form of a tin with a mixture of seeds of field flowers allowing to establish a mini meadow in a balcony pot;
  • we engage in pro-ecological social actions such as cleaning up the earth;
  • water dispensers available at the hotel help save about 3,000 plastic bottles a year;
  • we have created a Holistic MICE project dedicated to Business Customers, which aims to promote an active and healthy lifestyle; which includes active breaks, relaxing massages and healthy energy meals;
  • we educate Guests - how to save water and electricity in rooms, how to segregate waste, how not to waste food;
  • we have replaced disposable paper towels in public toilets with reusable cotton towels in rolls;there are 15 horses at our equestrian center, which we feed with homemade organic feed and care for with environmentally friendly cosmetics;
  • we have abandoned disposable butter packaging; we have purchased a special ButterSpender device that cools butter and dispenses a 12-gram portion at the push of a button;
  • we introduced special signage on windows to protect birds from collisions with glass;
  • the so-called 'green walls' in the Hotel are an element of biophilia, positively affecting the well-being of Guests and Employees.

Clean energy

The nature-friendly heart of Arlamow is a modern combined heat and power plant operating in a tri-generation system and using wood biomass as fuel. It is the most modern of its kind in Poland and one of the most innovative in Europe. Thanks to the CHP plant, the Arłamow Complex is self-sufficient in the production of energy, heat and chilled water for air conditioning systems. The installation is environmentally friendly - it emits only water vapor and carbon dioxide.

Pure water

The hotel draws water from the cleanest deposits from 11 intakes (from 67 to 100 meters deep). The water is treated in special systems that guarantee purity and quality, and then supplied to the various facilities. Taking care to maintain the highest possible quality of our water, we regularly test it (in an accredited laboratory and by sanitary and epidemiological services).

Czysta natura

Żyjemy w zgodzie z naturą, wspierając ją i czerpiąc z jej darów.

JUNO

As part of our proprietary Eco Arlamov program, we support various initiatives to improve animal welfare. By deciding to adopt a lynx from the Wroclaw Zoo, we wanted to add our Arlamow 'brick' to this. The lynx is not only a real showcase of the Bieszczady Mountains, but also a symbol of Arlamow! With the adoption of Juno, called Lesnica, we also aimed to educate about the needs and characteristics of these wild animals, as well as to emphasize their symbolism and importance in our Bieszczady surroundings.

Arlamow - Hotel close to nature!

In Arlamow we plant about 300 trees every year. Most often during the so-called eco-packages, during which we conduct a series of classes and workshops on environmental issues. Stay in Arlamow's consciousness for longer and plant your tree with us. We will take care of it, and you will be able to visit it.

Didactic path

On the grounds of the Arłamow Hotel there is a picturesque nature and educational path. This walking route will lead our guests through a delightful forest area, over which the Arłamow Hotel, in cooperation with the Bircza Forestry Commission, has custody. Here you can meet representatives of flora and fauna that are under strict species protection. This is the perfect place to marvel at the beauty of nature, listen to the rustle of the wind among the trees and soak up the clean mountain air.

Our forest brothers

We are located in the area of the Slony Mountains Landscape Park and the Turnica Reserve. This area is home to more than 20 species of protected animals. It is also a rich floristic area, with about 900 species of vascular plants. We encourage you to take a look at the presentation, where we introduce our immediate, and only, neighbors.

Zero Waste Workshops

At the Arłamow Hotel we care not only about the environment around us, but also about the ecological awareness of our guests. We regularly conduct presentations and workshops on Zero Waste - that is, how to cook to use absolutely every part of the ingredients used.

Freshness in the kitchen

The herbs we use in our kitchen come from our own cultivation. As a result, dishes served at the Arłamow Hotel retain a fresh, natural aroma. In addition, we reduce the need to transport purchased ingredients.

Apiary and bee nature trail

Picturesque mountain areas surrounded by forests, crystal clear air and beautiful flowery meadows - the outdoor area of the Arłamow Hotel is a place directly created for bees. No wonder, then, that the region is famous, among other things, for its wonderful honey.

As part of the “Thank a bee” campaign, the ŁYSOŃ company has opened an apiary with 5 hives at our hotel. There is also a bee educational path on the grounds of the Arłamow Hotel. This is an exceptional and unique project dedicated to the bee. The path is a great form of fun for the whole family, while playing an educational role, allowing you to learn more about the world of these friendly insects. Each participant has the opportunity to take part in a game called “Bee Detective.” The path route consists of six points with special boards, located in the area surrounding the Arłamow Hotel. Why of six? It's simple, because a bee has six legs. On each board there is a short description dedicated to bees, as well as a task for the bee detective to solve. To take part in the game, you need to register in advance at the hotel reception, where you will receive a map of the area with the educational route marked and the key to solving the puzzles described on each board. After walking the entire route and solving individual tasks, the “Bee Detective” will be able to discover the secret password, which will open the way to receive a surprise. The surprise will be waiting for him at the reception of the Arłamow Hotel. Remember, one path, but many combinations.

Come, check it out and see what great fun and learning it is!
